Has anybody used the new International Shipping and Insurance through IF? It seems to me that you MUST use Priority Mail and only use the options that are above about $25 to ship in order to fully quality for the insurance.... none of the small boxes can you even get a "tracking number" for.

My items dont even cost me $25 so it may not be worth it for me... but its pretty difficult to even qualify unless your item is worth paying that much for shipping.

I use Shipsurance through inkFrog for First Class Mail International without problems, and have had one claim made and paid for a package that was lost. Why do you think that only Priority Mail qualifies?

Its the way the FAQ was worded... and naturally I couldnt get to it last night. However here is a response I got from Shipsurance:

Hello,

Thank you for contacting Shipsurance.

USPS First Class International shipments would be fine. And you may also use the US customs form number in addition to the receipt "tracking number" from the Post Office as proof of shipping.

I didn't even know you had to ship priority or that items had to be worth $25 or more. I've been buying insurance for about 2 weeks now & I've been shipping 1st class & stuff worth under $25. They see what the value is and they accept it & gladly take my money everytime. Now I'm finding out I just wasted my money?! That kind of pisses me off! It's my fault for not reading the details but they sure didn't decline my money even when they saw it was clearly under $25. I have to read more about it now and find out about the other option mentioned. Where or how do I find the other service in IF? Thanks

jvl1929,

This is false information. There is not a $25 minimum for insured items nor do you have to ship via Priority Mail. 1st class mail is just fine and you can insure a $0.01 item if you choose to.

I use the "free shiprush" from Ebay to print the label for a First Class International package....then I go to inkfrog and get the insurance.....no problem....
Then when I go to the Post Office they put on a postage sticker.....

Thanks Shipsurance,
I'm happy to hear that I didn't waste my money. I thought it said up to such&such amount it's 55 cents so I understood that to mean 1cent & up.

I love the insurance through IF then, I've insured everything I've shipped since I found out about it. I just add it into the P&H fee.

I hardly insured anything before unless it was fragile or worth a certain amount & then I made it mandatory.

I just keep on using it then,
